Salary: RM4000-RM6000 depending on experience

Job Summary
We are seeking a competent and responsible Steam Engineer to oversee the safe and efficient operation of boilers and steam generation systems within the palm oil mill. The role is responsible for ensuring continuous steam supply for mill operations, maintaining boiler performance, and ensuring full compliance with safety regulations and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities / Job Description
· Key Responsibilities
o Operate, monitor, and maintain steam boilers and steam generation systems to ensure continuous and efficient mill operations.
o Ensure boilers are operated in accordance with DOSH regulations and safety standards.
o Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of boilers, turbines, pumps, and related equipment.
o Monitor boiler parameters including pressure, temperature, water level, and fuel consumption.
o Maintain accurate records of boiler operations, maintenance activities, and statutory documentation.
o Ensure proper water treatment and chemical dosing to maintain boiler efficiency and prevent scaling or corrosion.
o Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams for repairs and shutdown activities.
o Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and health regulations within the boiler house.
o Supervise and guide boiler operators and technical staff to maintain operational discipline and safety practices.
o Participate in energy efficiency initiatives and continuous improvement of boiler performance.
· Requirements
o Steam Engineer Certificate of Competency issued by DOSH (Department of Occupational Safety and Health) - Grade 1 or Grade 2.
o Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Power Plant Engineering, or related technical field is preferred.
o Minimum 3 – 5 years of experience operating boilers, preferably in Palm Oil Mill industry.
o Knowledge of boiler operations, steam systems, and power generation equipment.
· Competencies & Skills
o Strong knowledge of boiler operations and steam generation systems.
o Good understanding of industrial safety regulations and statutory compliance.
o Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and operational issues efficiently.
o Good record keeping and reporting skills.
o Strong problem-solving and analytical ability.
o Ability to workindependently and under pressure to ensure continuous mill operations.
