Position Summary

The primary responsibility of a Training Specialist is to prepare, deliver, and assess units of competency whilst ensuring the compliance requirements for the delivery of programs are met in accordance with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations.

Qualifications (Essential):

• Must hold the relevant TAE qualification or skill set at least to the level being delivered.
• To teach the TAE40122 Certificate IV or TAESS00019 Assessor Skill Set, candidates must hold a relevant Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (TAE50122/50116/50111), a Diploma of Training Design and Development (TAE50216/50211), or a higher adult education qualification.
• Must possess current vocational competencies, industry skills, and relevant VET knowledge.
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience training and assessing in industry, ideally within an RTO setting.
• High proficiency in adult learning facilitation, strong interpersonal communication, solid knowledge of the Australian VET system (AQF and RTO Standards), and basic computer literacy.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Training Delivery & Assessment: Facilitate courseware using adult learning principles, manage classroom schedules, handle student inductions, and manage safety/housekeeping. Conduct compliant student assessments, including Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
• Resources & Development: Assist in developing and mapping Training and Assessment Strategies (TAS) and learning materials.
• Student Support & Administration: Act as the first point of contact for student complaints/appeals. Complete accurate course, student, and trainer paperwork while maintaining confidentiality.
• Compliance, Feedback & WHS: Participate in assessment validation meetings. Collect and report student/employer feedback. Strictly adhere to Work Health and Safety (WHS) and OSH policies.
• Growth & Travel: Undertake training delivery in regional centers as required and actively participate in professional development to maintain VET currency.
