Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Plantation Management, Agronomy, or related field.
- At least 5–8 years of experience in plantation operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of oil palm, rubber, or other relevant plantation crops.
- Familiarity with MSPO/RSPO standards and compliance requirements is highly preferred.
- Excellent leadership, planning, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in remote estate locations, including challenging terrain in Sarawak.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and plantation management software.
- Willingness to travel within the estate and regional sites as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Plantation Operations Management
- Plan, implement, and monitor daily plantation operations including planting, harvesting, fertilization, pest and disease control.
- Ensure adherence to good agricultural practices (GAP), MSPO / RSPO certification standards.
- Monitor crop yield, production quality, and implement improvement programs.
- Staff Management and Development
- Supervise estate staff including field workers, supervisors, and support staff.
- Conduct performance appraisals, training, and coaching programs.
- Ensure labor compliance, safety, and welfare of all staff.
- Financial and Resource Management
- Prepare annual budgets, monitor operational expenses, and control costs.
- Ensure optimal use of machinery, equipment, and estate resources.
- Approve expenditures within authorized limits and recommend capital investments.
- Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate operational records, reports on productivity, workforce, and incidents.
- Liaise with external auditors, government agencies, and certification bodies as required.
- Infrastructure and Maintenance
- Oversee maintenance of roads, irrigation, drainage, housing, and other estate facilities.
- Coordinate with technical teams for machinery repairs, building maintenance, and other operational requirements.
- Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
- Implement and enforce HSE policies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions.
- Ensure environmental sustainability practices are followed.
- Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, government agencies, and local communities.
- Address operational challenges and propose improvement initiatives.
