Job Summary
An Industrial Relations Officer is responsible for managing relationships between the company, employees, and relevant government authorities. The role ensures compliance with labor laws, handles employee grievances and disciplinary matters, and promotes a harmonious working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle employee relations and industrial relations matters.
- Manage disciplinary issues, domestic inquiries, and grievance procedures.
- Ensure company compliance with labor laws and employment regulations.
- Liaise with government agencies such as:
- Jabatan Tenaga Kerja Semenanjung Malaysia
- Jabatan Perhubungan Perusahaan Malaysia
- Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia
- Prepare warning letters, show-cause letters, and termination documentation.
- Conduct investigations related to misconduct or workplace disputes.
- Advise management on employment law and company policies.
- Coordinate union discussions and collective agreement matters where applicable.
- Monitor employee attendance, misconduct, and workplace compliance.
- Support HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, and employee engagement.
- Maintain proper employee records and confidential documentation.
- Prepare reports related to industrial relations cases and HR matters.
Requirements & QualificationsEducation
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Human Resource Management
- Business Administration
- Law
- Industrial Relations
Experience
- 2–5 years experience in HR or Industrial Relations.
- Experience handling labor disputes and disciplinary matters is an advantage.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian Employment Act and labor regulations.
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Knowledge
Knowledge of:
- Employment Act 1955
- Industrial Relations Act 1967
- Occupational Safety and Health requirements
- Foreign worker management procedures
Working Conditions
- Office-based with occasional travel to government departments or labor offices.
- May need to attend court or industrial relations hearings.
Pay: RM2,200.00 - RM2,800.00 per month
Work Location: On the road
