About the role:

We are seeking an experienced MySQL Database Administrator to manage, optimise, and support critical database environments while ensuring high availability, performance, and automation across infrastructure operations.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support MySQL databases on Linux platforms
• Perform routine maintenance, optimisation, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
• Execute backup and restore operations to safeguard data integrity
• Design and refine physical database architecture for reliability
• Implement fault-tolerant and distributed database mechanisms
• Estimate, monitor, and plan database capacity requirements
• Apply Linux system administration skills to support database operations
• Enhance system reliability through automation and configuration management
• Support infrastructure stability within data centre environments

Requirements

Must-have:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in MySQL database administration on Linux
• Strong understanding of database optimisation, tuning, and troubleshooting techniques
• Hands-on experience with InnoDB Cluster
• Experience managing backup and restore operations
• Familiarity with Linux system administration
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and stakeholder collaboration abilities
• Proactive mindset with willingness to learn and adapt
• Experience supporting enterprise or large-scale infrastructure environments
• Malaysian Citizen only

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with Ansible or configuration management tools
• Exposure to automation practices within infrastructure operations
