We are representing our client a prominent manufacturer of frozen and ready-to-eat food products. They are known for its commitment to delivering high-quality and consistent food items, catering to both local and global markets. They are looking for Production Central Kitchen Manager (Head Chef) to be based in Balakong, Selangor.
Job Description:
- Lead departmental managers/executives to achieve company goal. Includes production, warehouse, logistic, QC, R&D and maintenance department.
- Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
- Ensure the timely service of consistently high quality and safe foods to customers.
- Develop, implement, enforce, and evaluate business process, policies, standard operating procedures and operating systems.
- Analyze and improve organizational process and workflow, employee and space requirements, and equipment layout; implement changes
- Work closely with operation department to ensure proper food presentation and excellent quality of products. Investigates outlet’s feedback/complaint and look for solutions and continuous improvement.
- Implement and proactively maintain the quality standards as defined in the ISO 9001, HALAL standards and as per local legal requirements.
- Ensure cost effectiveness in achieving budget and growth targets.
- Plan, monitor and control the operational expenses and budgets. Develop improvement plan for better cost control.
- Review performance of central kitchen operation and identify areas of improvement and potential waste.
- Prepare reporting (content and format as agreed) on monthly basis or as otherwise required.
- Ensure that Central Kitchen machinery is in good working order. Maintaining upkeep of central kitchen and equipment.
- Increases management’s effectiveness by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counselling; communicating values, strategies, and objectives; assigning accountabilities; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; developing incentives; cultivating a climate for offering information and opinions and providing educational opportunities.
- Explore & implement technology, equipment, software and system, to facilitate and improve cost efficiency and productivity.
- Create and implement consistent communication across departments.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Any other ad-hoc tasks assigned by the management.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree Certificate in Culinary, Food Production, Hospitality, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in central kitchen, food manufacturing, or large-scale food production environment.
- Experience in managing kitchen operations and production teams.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, and GMP requirements.
- Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
- Computer literate and able to prepare reports and production records.
- Proactive, independent and possess a strong sense of responsibility.
