Ottodot is building an AI-native learning platform for primary school students in Singapore to power our weekly game-based live classes. We are looking for a Tech Lead to own the architecture and engineering direction of the platform.

The Mission

You will help us move from a working but messy LMS into a reliable, AI-native education platform. You will work directly with the founder and current LMS owner to decide:

• What architecture should power the platform.
• What is the engineering direction of the platform
• How to enable a small AI-native engineering team to ship quickly without creating chaos.

What You’ll Work On

You will work on systems such as:

• Homework submission and reliable AI-assisted grading.
• Student progress, learning profiles, and recommendations.
• Game telemetry and internal game production tooling.

What We Expect Technically

You should be strong in:

• Backend/API design.
• Product architecture for fast-moving teams.
• Observability, logging, and production debugging.
• Testing critical flows.
• AI-assisted engineering workflows.

You Are Probably Not a Fit If

• You want a large engineering team around you before you can be effective.
• You only want to work on greenfield systems.
• You prefer trendy infrastructure over simple, reliable systems.
• You treat AI features as “just call an LLM”.
• You dislike reviewing junior or AI-generated code.
• You want to manage from a distance instead of being hands-on.
• You are uncomfortable with ambiguity and fast-changing startup priorities.
