About the Role
We are looking for a competent and experienced Inspector of Works (IOW) – Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) to join us. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and inspecting all M&E works on site to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, safety standards, and project schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and monitor all Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works at construction site.
- Ensure M&E installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, and authority requirements.
- Supervise subcontractors and ensure work quality meets required standards.
- Coordinate with consultants, engineers, contractors, and project team on M&E matters.
- Witness testing & commissioning activities for M&E systems.
- Identify defects, non-compliance, or delays and report to Project Manager / M&E Engineer.
- Maintain daily site inspection reports, progress updates, and documentation.
- Ensure site safety rules and procedures are followed at all times.
- Attend coordination meetings and assist in solving site technical issues.
Job Requirements
- Diploma / Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or related field.
- Registered / certified Inspector of Works (preferred).
- Minimum 3–5 years working experience in construction projects involving M&E systems.
- Familiar with Malaysian construction regulations, safety requirements, and industry standards.
- Able to read M&E drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Willing to work at project site in Sarawak.
- Immediate availability will be an added advantage.
Preferred Skills
- Strong coordination and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM5,500.00 per hour
