Responsibilities
Job Summary
The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing suppliers to support thecompany’s operational and strategic purchasing requirements. This role focuses on supplier sourcing, costoptimization, negotiation, vendor performance management, and ensuring timely availability of materialswhile maintaining quality and compliance standards.
The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, supplier management experience, negotiation capability, and a solid understanding of manufacturing supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Sourcing & Development
Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers locally and internationally.
Develop alternative sourcing strategies to reduce dependency and supply risk.
Conduct supplier benchmarking for pricing, quality, lead time, and service performance.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to support long-term business objectives.
Procurement & Negotiation
Request and analyze quotations from suppliers.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead time, MOQ, and commercial agreements.
Support annual cost reduction and supplier consolidation initiatives.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure procurement aligns with production and business
needs.
Cost Optimization
Analyze material cost trends and identify opportunities for savings.
Work closely with engineering and costing teams to support value engineering activities.
Support cost comparison studies and sourcing recommendations.
Monitor market conditions, raw material trends, and supply chain risks.
Supplier Performance Management
Monitor supplier delivery, quality, responsiveness, and overall performance.
Coordinate supplier corrective actions when issues arise.
Conduct supplier audits and evaluations where necessary.
Maintain supplier database and sourcing records.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Coordinate with Production, Planning, Engineering, QA, and Finance departments.
Support new product introduction and project sourcing activities.
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate sourcing documentation and supplier records.
Prepare sourcing reports, cost analysis, and procurement updates.
Support ISO, audit, and compliance documentation requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration,
Engineering, or related field.
Experience
Minimum 2–5 years of sourcing or procurement experience in manufacturing environment.
Experience in metal fabrication, automotive, electronics, furniture, or industrial manufacturing is an
advantage.
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems is preferred.
Technical Skills
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
Knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain practices.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
Ability to analyze quotations and cost structures.
Understanding of Incoterms and international sourcing is an advantage.
Soft Skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Good analytical and problem-solving capability.
Ability to work independently and under pressure.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Team player with strong sense of accountability
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
