Job Summary

The PCBA Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating printed circuit board assembly (PCBA’s)production activities to ensure timely delivery of products according to customer demand and company targets. The role involves managing materials, monitoring Work Orders and optimizing production schedule to achieve efficient workflow and minimal downtime.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain monthly production schedules for PCBA builds based on customer demand, inventory levels, material availability, and capacity planning.
• Coordinate with production, purchasing and engineering to ensure smooth workflow and material readiness.
• Review and interpret bills of materials (BOMs), engineering changes (ECOs), and customer specifications.
• To ensure accurate BOM and routing information are updated before production release.
• Prioritize work orders and WIP (work in progress) status to identify and resolve scheduling conflicts or material shortages and meet shipment deadline.
• Communicate proactively with internal stakeholders and customers regarding order status, delays, or changes in delivery schedules.
• Utilize ERP/MRP systems to generate and update planning data, work orders, and material requisitions.
• Track and report key planning metrics such as on-time delivery (OTD), schedule adherence, and inventory turnover.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning, inventory management, and production efficiency.
• Participate in daily production meeting to review schedule adherence.
• Participate in new product introduction (NPI) planning and ramp-up activities.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Electronics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2–5 years of experience in production planning, preferably in EMS or PCBA manufacturing.
• Familiarity with electronics manufacturing processes, including SMT, through-hole, and final assembly.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong understanding of BOM structures, routing, and material planning.
• Proficient in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent).
• Analytical and detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-mix, low-to-medium volume manufacturing environment.
