1. Daily Inspections & Hazard Control
- Observing work areas for unsafe conditions or actions and taking immediate corrective action.
- Conducting regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and firefighting apparatus (extinguishers) to ensure everything is in working order .
- Monitoring Environmental factors
2. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintaining records of all accidents, near-misses, injuries, and occupational diseases to help identify trends and prevent future incidents .
- Updating safety documents and ensuring the company complies with local laws.
- Managing Schedule Waste (hazardous waste): Handling inventory, storage, labeling, and reporting to the Department of Environment (DOE) via the eSWIS system .
3. Emergency Response & Medical Aid
- Providing first aid to injured workers and monitoring ill employees until medical help arrives .
- Preparing workers for emergencies by organizing fire drills, evacuation simulations, and emergency response exercises .
4. Training & Safety Culture
- Educating employees on safety rules, proper equipment usage, and accident prevention techniques .
- Conducting inductions for new workers or visitors before they enter operational areas .
- Leading safety meetings (e.g., Toolbox Meetings) and safety committees to discuss hazards and solutions .
5. Incident Investigation
- Investigating accidents to determine the root cause, rather than just blaming the individual .
- Writing detailed reports on serious injuries or dangerous occurrences and recommending preventive measures .
Key Skills & Requirements
- Education: Diploma in Safety & Health OR Degree in related field.
- Software Knowledge: Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) for report writing .
- Soft Skills: Strong communication (to give orders/training), observation skills, and the ability to work under pressure
Pay: RM2,700.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
