Position Summary

Vorix Woodcraft is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Executivewith experience in thecustom cabinetry, furniture manufacturing, interior fit-out, or woodworking industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing materials, managing supplier relationships, coordinating procurement activities, and ensuring timely material supply to support production schedules while maintaining cost efficiency and quality standards.

Requirements:

Education

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business Administration, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum 3~5 years of purchasing experience in:

  • Custom Cabinetry Manufacturing

  • Furniture Manufacturing

  • Interior Fit-Out

  • Woodworking Factory

  • Modular Cabinet Production

• Experience purchasing wood panels, laminates, hardware, aluminium profiles, and cabinetry accessories is highly preferred.

• Experience using ERP, AutoCount, or inventory management systems will be an added advantage.

Technical Knowledge

• Strong understanding of cabinetry materials and production processes.

• Familiar with materials such as MDF, Particle Board, Plywood, ENF Board, Melamine, HPL, Veneer, and Solid Wood.

• Knowledge of furniture hardware brands such as Blum, Hettich, Häfele, KORL, or equivalent is an advantage.

• Basic understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM) and production material planning.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.

• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent planning, coordination, and organizational skills.

• Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Able to communicate in Mandarin(spoken and written) & English, to liaise effectively with local and China suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Purchasing

• Source and purchase materials required for cabinetry production, including wood panels, laminates, hardware, aluminium profiles, edge banding, adhesives, accessories, and other production materials.

• Obtain quotations, compare pricing, negotiate with suppliers, and recommend the most suitable supplier based on quality, cost, delivery, and service.

• Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (PO) accurately and ensure timely submission to suppliers.

• Monitor purchase orders and follow up on deliveries to prevent production delays.

• Ensure all purchased materials meet company specifications and quality standards.

Supplier Management

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with local and overseas suppliers.

• Evaluate supplier performance in terms of pricing, quality, delivery, and responsiveness.

• Source and assess new suppliers to improve procurement efficiency and cost competitiveness.

• Handle supplier complaints, delivery issues, shortages, and quality discrepancies.

Inventory & Material Planning

• Work closely with the Production, Warehouse, and Design teams to forecast material requirements.

• Monitor stock levels and ensure sufficient inventory to support production while avoiding overstock.

• Coordinate with the warehouse on material receiving, inspection, and stock reconciliation.

• Assist in stock counts and inventory audits when required.

Cost Control

• Analyze purchasing trends and identify opportunities for cost savings.

• Monitor material price fluctuations and support management with purchasing cost analysis.

• Negotiate favorable pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier databases, quotations, and procurement documentation.

• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.

• Prepare purchasing reports and maintain proper filing of procurement records.

Cross-Department Coordination

• Liaise closely with the Design, Sales, Production, Warehouse, and Accounts teams to ensure smooth procurement and production planning.

• Coordinate urgent material purchases to minimize production downtime.

• Assist in resolving material-related issues during manufacturing and installation.
