Job Description

Requirements

  • Malaysian citizin

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field.

  • Must be a Registered Inspector of Works (IOW) with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and possess a valid registration throughout the project duration.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the supervision and inspection of civil and/or structural construction works. Experience with infrastructure work under JPS/JKR will be added advantage.

  • Familiar with construction specifications, quality control procedures, and relevant industry standards.

  • Good communication, reporting, and coordination skills with Clients, Consultants, Contractors, and relevant stakeholders.

  • Able to work independently and be stationed full-time at the project site.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and monitor construction works on site to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, technical standards, and contract requirements.

  • Carry out routine site inspections for civil and structural works and maintain accurate records of work progress and quality.

  • Identify and report any non-conformance, defects, or technical issues to the Project Engineer and/or Resident Engineer for corrective action.

  • Verify completed works prior to inspections by the Client, Consultant, or relevant authorities.

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of site inspection records, daily reports, testing records, and related documentation.

  • Ensure construction activities are carried out in accordance with quality, safety, and good engineering practices.

  • Carry out and record instrumentation monitoring readings, including settlement markers, inclinometers, piezometers, monitoring points, and other monitoring instruments as required under the project specification.

  • Monitor, compile, and report instrumentation data to the Project Engineer, Resident Engineer, and Consultant, and promptly highlight any abnormal readings or movements for further assessment and corrective action.
