About the Role

As a Finance & Accounts Manager, you will oversee the full spectrum of finance and accounting operations for our growing café business. Beyond ensuring accurate financial reporting and statutory compliance, you will play a key role as a business partner to the HQ and outlet teams by providing financial insights that drive profitability, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth. You will lead the finance team, manage financial planning and reporting processes, analyse business performance, and work closely with Senior Management and Operations teams to strengthen financial controls, optimise costs, and support new outlet expansion initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting

• Lead the full spectrum of finance and accounting operations, including full set of accounts, monthly closing, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

• Prepare and present monthly management accounts, financial reports, business performance analysis, and key financial indicators to support Senior Management decision-making.

• Conduct financial analysis, budget variance analysis, profitability analysis, and provide actionable recommendations to improve business performance.

Financial Planning & Business Support

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial projections to support business growth and expansion plans.

• Partner with Operations and outlet teams to monitor outlet performance, profitability, operating expenses, and cost efficiency.

• Provide financial insights to support strategic planning, business decisions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

F&B Cost Control & Outlet Performance

• Monitor food and beverage costs, labour costs, inventory movement, wastage trends, and outlet profitability.

• Collaborate with outlet managers to review POS sales reconciliation, bank deposits, stock take results, inventory variances, and operating expenses.

• Identify cost optimisation opportunities and implement effective controls to improve margins while maintaining operational standards.

Compliance, Controls & Process Improvement

Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including SST, e-Invoicing, tax submissions, audits, and financial reporting standards.

• Strengthen internal controls, finance policies, SOPs and accounting processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.

• Support financial setup and controls for new café outlets, business expansion, and franchise initiatives.

Team Leadership

• Lead, coach, and develop the finance team to ensure effective execution of daily finance operations, reporting, and compliance requirements.

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within the F&B, retail, or multi-outlet/franchise environment.

• Proven experience in managing the full set of accounts, month-end closing, financial reporting, and statutory compliance.

• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis is highly desirable.

• Ability to prepare and present management reports, financial dashboards, and business performance analysis to support Senior Management decision-making.

• Familiarity with café operations, POS systems, inventory reconciliation, and outlet financial controls is a strong advantage.

• Proficient in SQL Accounting Software, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and commercial acumen with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.

• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

• Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across HQ and outlet operations.

• Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia; proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage to facilitate communication with diverse stakeholders.

• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

• Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or MIA membership (or candidates currently pursuing these qualifications) will be an added advantage.
