Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years in F&B or QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) environments, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.

• Coffee Knowledge: Passionate about coffee, with proven hands-on experience on espresso machines and brewing equipment.

• Skills: Strong leadership, multitasking, and conflict resolution skills.

• Certifications: Valid Food Handling Certificate and Typhoid Vaccination (preferred).

• Availability: Willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Position Overview
We are seeking an energetic and passionate Café Supervisor to lead our Brew Crew. You will oversee daily operations, deliver exceptional customer service, and ensure that every cup of coffee poured meets the highest quality and consistency standards. You will act as the right-hand to the Café Manager, stepping in to supervise the team and drive sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Coffee & Product Quality

• Maintain world-class beverage and food quality by enforcing company recipes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

• Conduct regular taste tests, dial in espresso grinders, and ensure equipment is calibrated correctly.

• Coach staff on proper brewing techniques, milk texturing, and latte art.

2. Operations & Customer Service

• Oversee opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, safe drops, and security checks.

• Manage daily inventory, track wastage, and place timely orders for coffee beans, milk, and supplies.

• Create a welcoming atmosphere and proactively resolve customer complaints.

3. Team Leadership & Development

• Assist the Café Manager in training new baristas on coffee knowledge, POS systems, and customer service.

• Delegate tasks, manage staff breaks, and motivate the team during peak busy hours.

• Lead by example, promoting a culture of teamwork, ownership, and respect.

4. Health & Safety Compliance

• Ensure the bar, seating areas, and back-of-house are immaculate, adhering to food safety and hygiene guidelines.

• Maintain equipment sanitation protocols (e.g., backflushing espresso machines, cleaning grinders).

• Active Listening: Understanding customer needs and addressing staff feedback effectively.

• Basic Mathematics: Handling point-of-sale (POS) systems, cash registers, and calculating daily sales summaries.

• Time Management: Punctuality for shifts, managing staff break rotations, and speeding up drink preparation queues.

• Clear Communication: Giving clear directions to the team and greeting customers warmly in English (and local languages).

• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and safely lift coffee bean sacks or milk crates.
