Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) or an equivalent qualification.
Admission as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya is preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years of relevant legal manager experience gained from private practice and/or an in-house legal environment.
Strong contract drafting, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Commercially astute with the ability to provide practical and effective legal solutions.
Experience in government-linked or government-related projects will be an added advantage.
Responsibilities
Draft, review, negotiate, and provide legal advice on a wide range of commercial agreements, including customer contracts, vendor agreements, service agreements, consultancy agreements, non-disclosure agreements, collaboration agreements, and other business-related documents.
Provide timely and practical legal advice and support to business units on commercial, operational, and day-to-day legal matters.
Support procurement and tender activities by reviewing tender documents, bid submissions, and contract award documentation.
Advise on employment-related matters, including disciplinary actions, misconduct investigations, employment contracts, and compliance with labour laws and regulations.
Assist in managing disputes, claims, and litigation matters, including liaising with external legal counsel and other professional advisors.
Provide legal guidance on insurance matters, including policy reviews, claims management, and contractual risk allocation.
Conduct legal research and monitor developments in laws and regulations that may impact the Group’s operations and business activities.
Identify potential legal risks and recommend practical, business-oriented solutions to support organisational objectives.
Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of legal templates, policies, procedures, and compliance initiatives.
Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Legal – Commercial & Business Affairs.
