Job Description

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) or an equivalent qualification.

  • Admission as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya is preferred.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant legal manager experience gained from private practice and/or an in-house legal environment.

  • Strong contract drafting, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Commercially astute with the ability to provide practical and effective legal solutions.

  • Experience in government-linked or government-related projects will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and provide legal advice on a wide range of commercial agreements, including customer contracts, vendor agreements, service agreements, consultancy agreements, non-disclosure agreements, collaboration agreements, and other business-related documents.

  • Provide timely and practical legal advice and support to business units on commercial, operational, and day-to-day legal matters.

  • Support procurement and tender activities by reviewing tender documents, bid submissions, and contract award documentation.

  • Advise on employment-related matters, including disciplinary actions, misconduct investigations, employment contracts, and compliance with labour laws and regulations.

  • Assist in managing disputes, claims, and litigation matters, including liaising with external legal counsel and other professional advisors.

  • Provide legal guidance on insurance matters, including policy reviews, claims management, and contractual risk allocation.

  • Conduct legal research and monitor developments in laws and regulations that may impact the Group’s operations and business activities.

  • Identify potential legal risks and recommend practical, business-oriented solutions to support organisational objectives.

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of legal templates, policies, procedures, and compliance initiatives.

  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Legal – Commercial & Business Affairs.
