Job Description

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (SPM/'O' Level) is required.

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of proven experience in a similar clinic assistant or healthcare support role.

  • Proficiency in patient care, including taking vital signs, assisting with examinations, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.

  • Strong administrative support skills, including managing patient records, handling correspondence, and maintaining a clean and organized clinic environment.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and empathetically with patients from diverse backgrounds.

  • Experience with appointment scheduling software and managing clinic calendars efficiently.

  • Familiarity with basic medical terminology and procedures.

  • Fluency in both English and Bahasa Malaysia is essential for effective communication with patients and colleagues.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all clinic policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and register patients, ensuring accurate collection of demographic and insurance information.

  • Schedule patient appointments efficiently, managing the clinic's calendar and coordinating with healthcare providers.

  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of nurses or doctors, including taking vital signs, assisting with examinations, and preparing patients for procedures.

  • Maintain patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with all relevant regulations, including updating medical history and treatment plans.

  • Manage clinic inventory, order supplies, and ensure the cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and common areas.

  • Handle patient inquiries via phone and in-person, providing information about services, clinic policies, and directing them to appropriate resources.

  • Process patient payments, co-pays, and insurance claims, maintaining accurate financial records and reconciling daily transactions.

  • Assist with basic laboratory procedures, such as collecting specimens and performing simple tests as directed.

  • Educate patients on pre- and post-appointment instructions, medication adherence, and general health and wellness information.

  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure a smooth workflow and optimal patient experience.
