ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT

1. Understands and carries out patient care in line with Vision and mission, philosophy, Goals and objective that suit the scope of the services and the hospital.

2. Understands the service organization structure.

3. Attends meetings held by the services to discuss issues and matters pertaining to the operation of the service.

4. Receives report of the patients, provides individualized holistic patient care as assigned by the Radiologist, Diagnostic Imaging Manager.

5. Communicate effectively with patient and patient relatives before and after x-ray examination.

6. To produce good X-ray images of diagnostic value with minimum x-ray dose.

7. Assist the radiologists /consultant to perform all types of x-ray examinations.

8. Supervise Radiology Aide in preparation of contrast media injections and procedure sets used for special x-ray procedures.

9. Assist Registered Nurse checks daily and audits resuscitation trolley periodically as schedule. To check and monitor the flow and indenting the items and drugs of emergency trolley. Establish the highest standard of patient care. r Platform for effective communication and discussion of grievances. Establish a good working environment in which patients receive a high standard of care. Maintain standard of patient care and good rapport with patient and family. Always maintain high quality x-ray images with minimum of x-ray dose and practiced radiation protection. To handle all types of x-ray equipment.To ensure all patients will be screened for contrast /drug and other allergies. To check and monitor the flow and indent of emergency drugs for Emergency Trolley.

10. To ensure the safety and privacy of patients who are under their care.

11. Staff working in imaging services should all have a clear understanding of the duty of confidentiality and all patients’ information is held in a safe and secure manner.

12. Obtain consent from patient for all biopsy and intravenous contrast media injection to be administered during the examination.

13. To perform shift and on call duty.

14. Check patient charges are charged accordingly and for completeness.

15. All x-ray staff shall be responsible for the proper disposal of clinical waste.

16. All properties received from the client must be recorded in the “Client’s Property Book” and locked in the property cupboard.

17. To supervise and help Radiology Aide in lifting patients for diagnostic imaging examinations.

18. Preparation of contrast media for special x- ray examinations such as IVP, barium meal, barium enema, etc. with supervision of Radiologist

19. Check for Renal Function result for patient who is going through any contrast study. 20. Informs the Head of diagnostic Imaging when changes

21. occur in circumstances that affect standard of care.

22. Monitor patients’ vital signs, record and report accordingly.

23. All properties received from the client must be recorded in the “Client’s Property Book” and locked in the property cupboard.

24. Check patient charges are charged accordingly and for completeness.
