We’re Hiring: Application Engineer | Rail & Public Transportation Technology
Are you an Application Engineer who enjoys solving problems, working with customers, and seeing technology go from requirements to a live solution?
We’re looking for an Application Engineer to join our team in Kuala Lumpur, supporting the implementation and ongoing support of our Rail & Public Transportation solutions.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll work across both application implementation and customer support, with a strong focus on implementation.
What you’ll be doing
- Drive application implementation activities from understanding customer requirements and business processes through application configuration, UAT, training, deployment and go-live.
- Work closely with customers and internal teams to understand operational workflows, translate requirements into application configurations, and ensure solutions meet agreed project requirements.
- Coordinate UAT and training, including preparing test scripts, documenting results and findings, resolving follow-up actions, and conducting end-user and administrator training.
- Support application installation, deployment and go-live, working alongside technical teams and providing hands-on troubleshooting during implementation and post-go-live stabilisation.
- Provide application support and troubleshooting by investigating reported issues, reviewing logs/error messages and identifying whether problems relate to configuration, data, user actions, environment or potential product defects before escalation.
- Build strong product and technical knowledge across our Rail & Public Transportation solutions, particularly EAM and WFM, while developing practical knowledge of SQL/database concepts, networking, server environments and Microsoft technologies.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone with 2–3 years of experience in application support, implementation, technical consulting or a customer-facing technology role.
You should have:
- A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, Engineering or a related field
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Basic knowledge of SQL/database concepts
- Basic understanding of networking, server environments and application deployment
- Familiarity with Microsoft-related products and environments
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with customers
- A structured, detail-oriented approach to documentation and project delivery
- The ability to work independently while collaborating with technical, support and project teams
Experience with enterprise applications, EAM, WFM, and public transportation or rail solutions is an advantage.
Why this role?
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to build a career beyond traditional application support — developing the skills to progressively take ownership of larger implementation workstreams and eventually the full implementation lifecycle.
If you’re a hands-on problem solver, fast learner and customer-focused technology professional looking for your next challenge, we’d love to hear from you.
