Job Scope
This is a dedicated M&E tendering position focusing on quantity take-off, BQ pricing, quotation sourcing and tender cost preparation. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Review M&E tender drawings, specifications, Bills of Quantities (BQ), schedules and tender documents.
- Carry out M&E quantity take-off from tender drawings.
- Complete and price M&E BQ and tender pricing schedules.
- Prepare M&E cost estimates and basic rate build-ups.
- Send enquiries / RFQs to M&E subcontractors, suppliers and equipment vendors.
- Follow up and obtain quotations within tender deadlines.
- Prepare quotation comparisons.
- Review quotations for exclusions, qualifications and missing scope.
- Check that subcontractor/vendor quotations comply with the tender scope.
- Identify missing or duplicated scope between different M&E packages.
- Review tender addenda, revised drawings and clarifications and update quantities and pricing accordingly.
- Prepare tender cost summaries for management review.
- Revise and finalise tender pricing before submission.
- Maintain M&E tender rates, supplier quotations and vendor pricing records.
- Handle multiple tender exercises when required.
M&E Knowledge Required
Candidate should have practical tendering knowledge of major building M&E systems, including:
- Electrical works
- LV systems
- Lighting and Small Power
- Earthing and Lightning Protection
- ELV / Fire Alarm
- ACMV / HVAC
- Mechanical Ventilation
- Plumbing & Sanitary
- Cold Water
- Fire Protection
- Pumps
- M&E Builder's Works Knowledge of major systems such as Transformer, Generator, UPS, Switchgear and Chilled Water systems will be an advantage, particularly for Data Centre / Industrial tenders.
Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of relevant M&E QS / Tender experience.
- Hands-on experience in M&E tender pricing, BQ and quantity take-off is required.
- Able to read and understand M&E drawings and specifications.
- Able to carry out M&E quantity take-off independently.
- Able to complete and price M&E BQ.
- Familiar with M&E subcontractor, supplier and vendor enquiries.
- Able to prepare quotation comparisons and identify missing scope.
- Good general understanding of both Mechanical and Electrical works.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with quantity take-off / estimation software will be an advantage.
- Main Contractor or M&E Contractor tender experience will be an advantage.
- Data Centre / Industrial / Factory M&E tender experience will be an advantage.
- Good command of English and Mandarin
- Detail-oriented and able to work within tender deadlines.
Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
