The Role - Be Part of Our Success
You will be involved end-to-end - from initial concept, detailed design, prototyping, testing, to production, fabrication, and site implementation. Working closely with Electrical, Controls, Manufacturing and Project teams, you will deliver reliable, compliant, and ruggedized engineering solutions that work in real-world conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems for complex engineering projects
Prepare detailed engineering drawings, 3D models, and technical documentation
Perform engineering calculations and analyses (structural, thermal) to validate design decisions
Drive system integration across mechanical, electrical, and control domains
Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and contractors to ensure project requirements and timelines are met
Lead and participate in prototype development, testing, validation, and troubleshooting
Support manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, and site installation activities
Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and safety requirements
Conduct root cause analysis and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Contribute to technical proposals, project deliverables and documentation
Qualities We Value
Education & Experience:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Mechanical Design & Development experience
Proficient in 3D CAD - SolidWorks / Creo / Inventor or equivalent
Technical Competencies:
Strong fundamentals in mechanical design principles, materials, and fabrication processes
Ability to perform structural and thermal calculations
Good knowledge of mechanical system integration, layout and packaging
Familiar with engineering standards, codes and compliance requirements
Exposure to testing, validation, QA and environmental considerations (vibration, temperature, outdoor / ruggedized conditions)
Experience with complex / multidisciplinary engineering systems
Experience supporting fabrication, assembly or site implementation - highly preferred
Background in industrial, transportation, infrastructure or field-deployed systems is a strong advantage
