We're seeking a Software Engineer to transform architectural concepts into production systems across our full technology stack. You'll build and maintain in-house platforms, infrastructure, integrations, APIs, Lambda functions, and both backend and frontend applications while ensuring governance and compliance standards.

Primary Responsibilities

Technical Delivery

• 5+ years full-stack software engineering experience
• Hands-on experience in AWS with experience in ECS, Kubernetes, Lambda.
• Proficiency in backend technologies (Kotlin, Java, Spring Boot, or similar)
• Experience with frontend frameworks (Svelte, React, Vue, or similar)
• Strong proficiency in CI/CD/Pipeline with GitLab
• Strong proficiency in IaC (AWS CDK, Terraform, OpenTofu, etc) on AWS
• Understanding of RESTful API design, GraphQL design and microservices architecture
• Understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases

Key Requirements

Architecture & Compliance

• Proven ability to translate high-level concepts into scalable technical implementations
• Experience implementing security controls and compliance requirements in production
• Understanding of authentication, authorization, encryption, and audit logging
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks and regulatory requirements
• Experience with system integration and event-driven architectures

Technical Capabilities

• Backend framework (Kotlin/Java preferred)
• Frontend framework (Svelte, React preferred)
• Cloud platform (AWS)
• GitLab pipelines
• Infrastructure as code experience (AWS CDK, Terraform, OpenTofu)

Work Environment

You will be working in a complex ministry environment characterized by:

• Multiple ongoing modernization initiatives (e.g. Data platforms, agency systems) alongside legacy system maintenance
• Diverse technology stack including Kotlin, Java, Pega and cloud infrastructure (GCC/AWS)
• Government security and compliance requirements that shape technical decisions
• Resource constraints requiring pragmatic approaches that balance immediate needs with long-term sustainability
