About the Role

• Our client is a leading global agricultural commodity merchant and processor, with operations spanning the entire value chain from farm to fork across a wide range of business lines and geographies.

The Role

This role requires efficient control and close liaison with other counterparties in remote locations. The key tasks assigned include:

• Operate and be responsible for the end-to-end management of all allocated vessels’
• shipping operations matter, for Dry Cargo ships
• Communicate and liaise with vessel owner’s/ship masters/charterers, trading team and other relevant stakeholders on voyage instructions
• Responsible for following up on post fixture activities
• Manage assigned external relations with customers and / or suppliers
• Support and lead process improvement initiatives as required
• Ensure and champion a close and harmonious working relationship with the relevant commercial team
• Collaborate effectively with other Freight Platform desks

The Ideal Candidate

• 1-3 years’ experience as Operator of Voyage/ Time Charter dry bulk vessel, minimally
• 8-10 vessels at a time
• Significant and demonstrated customer or supplier relationship skills
• An interest in and aptitude for people management
• Knowledge of macroeconomics including trade flows
• Commercial Maturity/Shipping or Economic studies
• Proficiency in English
• Sea-going experience desirable but not essential
• Proficient in use of technology particularly Excel, Word, Shipping system (strong preference for IMOS).
• Familiarity with Sedna and IMOS would be an advantage
• Customer focused and relationship building with key accounts (Internal Customers and Shipowners)
• Accountability and strong sense of ownership, team play and collaboration.
