Role Description The LSA-FFA Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Johor Baharu. This role involves performing inspection, testing, servicing, and certification of Life Saving Appliances and Fire Fighting Appliances in accordance with relevant regulations, standards, and manufacturer guidelines. The technician will carry out repair and maintenance tasks on LSA and FFA equipment, prepare service reports, and support documentation for compliance and audit purposes. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating with vessel representatives and internal teams, ensuring timely completion of assigned jobs, maintaining tools and test equipment in good working condition, and adhering to all safety procedures during on-board and workshop activities. The LSA-FFA Technician will also assist with calibration-related tasks, support marine safety projects, and contribute to continuous improvement of service quality.
Qualifications

• Strong technical skills in inspection, testing, servicing, and repair of Life Saving Appliances (LSA) and Fire Fighting Appliances (FFA).
• Knowledge of marine safety regulations, IMO requirements, and relevant industry standards for LSA and FFA.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, service procedures, and safety documentation.
• Experience working on board vessels or in a marine/offshore environment is highly beneficial.
• Basic skills in calibration, load testing, and use of measurement instruments are an advantage.
• Good problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in technical and safety-related tasks.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
• Ability to work on-site, travel to vessels or offshore locations as required, and perform physically demanding tasks safely.
• Relevant technical certification or diploma in marine engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
