Chef – Kuriya Japanese Market

Kuriya Japanese Market is looking for a passionate and experienced Chef to lead our kitchen operations. If you have strong leadership skills, enjoy working with premium Japanese ingredients, and take pride in preparing quality sushi and sashimi, we'd love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare high-quality sushi, sashimi and Japanese dishes while maintaining excellent presentation and consistency.
Lead, coach, and supervise the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations.
Manage food ordering, stock replenishment and supplier coordination.
Monitor inventory levels and minimise food wastage through effective inventory control.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
Maintain product quality, freshness, and operational excellence.
Assist with menu improvement, cost control and kitchen productivity.
Requirements
Minimum 3 years of experience in Japanese cuisine.
Strong skills in preparing sushi and sashimi.
Experience in staff supervision and kitchen operations.
Knowledge of ordering, inventory management, and food cost control.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude.
A team player with strong leadership and communication skills.
Basic Food Hygiene Certification is an advantage.
