A Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer in the aerospace industry ensures that all aircraft components, systems, materials, and manufacturing processes meet strict aviation safety, regulatory, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards (AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA/EASA regulations)
• Perform inspection of aerospace parts, assemblies, and materials
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes
• Conduct internal audits and supplier audits
• Investigate non-conformance reports (NCR) and implement corrective & preventive actions (CAPA)
• Work closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams
• Maintain quality documentation and traceability records
• Support root cause analysis for defects and failures
• Ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements
• Participate in continuous improvement (Lean / Six Sigma) initiatives

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of aerospace standards: AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA, EASA
• Understanding of quality control tools (FMEA, SPC, 8D, 5 Why analysis)
• Ability to read engineering drawings & GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
• Experience with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, CMM, gauges)
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, composites, sheet metal, assembly)
• Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods is an advantage

Analytical Skills:

• Strong root cause analysis capability
• Attention to detail and high accuracy
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills

Software Skills:

• MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Quality systems software (SAP, Oracle, Teamcenter, or similar)
• Document control systems

Compliance & Standards Knowledge:

• AS9100 Quality Management System
• Aerospace regulatory requirements (FAA / EASA)
• ISO 9001 Quality Management System

Soft Skills:

• Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
• Team collaboration across engineering and production teams
• Time management and multitasking
• Discipline and high safety awareness
• Ability to work under pressure in regulated environments
