Job Description

• Performing the physical tasks requires opening, control, and closing the furnace taphole.
• Guiding the flow of molten ferrosilicon and slag into pre-positioned ladles and ensuring correct ladle changes occur without spills or safety incidents.
• Strictly following all safety protocols for working around extreme heat and molten materials. The operator is responsible for wearing the correct specialized PPE, conducting immediate safety checks of the work area, and responding quickly to emergency situations such as spills or unexpected flow variations.
• Assisting the Tapping Leader by safely obtaining representative samples of the molten metal for laboratory analysis and recording metal temperatures during the tap.
• Operating and performing routine checks and basic maintenance on all tapping machinery, including lances and tapping floor tools. Reporting any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs immediately to the Tapping Leader.
• Assisting with minor repairs to the tap hole area to maintain the integrity of the tapping system.
• Maintaining a clean and safe tapping area and immediate work area to prevent trip hazards and ensure efficient operations.
• Communicating effectively with the Tapping Leader regarding tap flow rates, furnace conditions, and production status.

Requirement

• Candidate must possess at least minimum SPM level;
• Able to work overtime and under pressure with minimum supervision;
• Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia (speaking and writing);
• Good communication, coordination and interpersonal skills;
• Willing to work in shift / Public Holiday / Over Time.
