Pressing Engineer – Permanent Magnets | Johor Bahru, Malaysia

We are currently partnering with a global advanced materials manufacturer specialising in rare-earth magnetic materials and permanent magnets to recruit a Pressing Engineer for their operations in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

The company develops and manufactures high-performance magnetic materials and permanent magnet solutions used across a range of advanced industrial and technology applications.

The position will play a key technical role in the pressing / compaction stage of magnet manufacturing, with a strong focus on process development, optimisation, troubleshooting and industrialisation.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and optimise pressing / compaction processes for magnet manufacturing
• Troubleshoot process, equipment, tooling and product-quality issues
• Optimise process parameters to improve quality, consistency and manufacturing performance
• Support new product and process development through industrialisation and scale-up
• Work closely with R&D, Engineering, Production and Quality teams
• Drive continuous improvement across pressing operations

What we’re looking for:

• 3+ years of relevant engineering/manufacturing experience
• Hands-on experience with pressing, powder compaction, forming or compression moulding
• Experience within permanent magnets, bonded/sintered magnets or NdFeB would be highly advantageous
• Candidates from relevant powder metallurgy / precision pressing industries may also be considered
• Strong hands-on process engineering and troubleshooting capabilities
• Open to candidates currently based outside Malaysia

Relocation support to Malaysia will be provided if required.
