About the Role
Dragon Rise Construction Technology Limited is developing intelligent construction technologies combining robotics, artificial intelligence, computer vision, sensing, automation and connected systems for construction-site applications.
We are seeking an R&D Engineer to support the research, development, prototyping and validation of new and substantially improved intelligent construction systems.
The role will involve hands-on technical development across areas including AI-based safety systems, machine vision, construction robotics, robotic welding, intelligent sensing and related automation technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and development of robotics, automation, AI and intelligent construction technologies.
- Develop, integrate and evaluate computer-vision and machine-vision functions for construction-site applications.
- Support the development of AI-based personnel, object and hazard detection systems.
- Conduct R&D on multi-camera and 360 vision systems, including calibration, image processing, blind-spot reduction and proximity-risk detection.
- Develop and evaluate robotic-arm applications, including motion planning, trajectory control and process automation.
- Support the development and optimisation of robotic welding systems, including welding path planning, torch positioning, operating parameters, repeatability and process consistency.
- Investigate sensor, vision and control-system integration for intelligent construction equipment.
- Develop and test prototype hardware and software systems.
- Design and conduct technical experiments, laboratory testing and field validation.
- Analyse experimental results, system performance, false-positive/false-negative behaviour and technical limitations.
- Identify and resolve technological uncertainties arising from deployment in variable construction-site environments.
- Improve system reliability under factors such as changing lighting, dust, vibration, weather, obstruction and variable equipment geometry.
- Prepare technical reports, R&D records, test results and design documentation.
- Work with internal engineering and project teams to translate R&D outcomes into practical construction applications.
