The Collateral and Risk team supports the business by managing and mitigating financial risks linked to secured and collateralised transactions. The team oversees activities where assets are used as security to help reduce credit risk, including ensuring requirements are applied correctly and that the right collateral is available and utilised.

The Assistant Manager, Operations role supports day-to-day operational delivery by monitoring tasks and processes to ensure timely and accurate processing, in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements. The role also acts as a key support resource and first point of escalation for operational issues.

What you’ll do:

Impact on the Business / Function:

• Provide daily operational support and complete required controls to help maintain a well-controlled environment.
• Act as a primary contact for escalation matters and support timely resolution.
• Support consistent handling of queries, exceptions and disputes to improve efficiency and manage risk.
• Coach and support junior team members, maintaining strong service standards.
• Produce and maintain routine reporting (daily, weekly, monthly) where required.
• Build and maintain a good understanding of the products, processes and systems supported by the team.
• Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures.

Customers / Stakeholders:

• Deliver quality service and support achievement of agreed service levels (PLAs/SLAs).
• Provide consistent support to stakeholders at all levels in line with Group and Company standards.

Leadership & Teamwork:

• Act as a process specialist and escalation point, supporting training, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement to help the team meet its objectives.

Operational Effectiveness & Control:

• Deliver BAU work effectively, making sound decisions and escalating issues promptly when needed.
• Investigate and resolve issues, and implement actions to prevent recurrence.
• Complete and review required activities in line with procedures, including reconciliations, settlements monitoring, query/dispute handling and reporting requirements (where applicable).
• Use data and analysis to identify improvements and strengthen process performance.
• Follow all required control checks and end-of-day tasks consistently.

What you will need to succeed in the role:

• Ability to support operations delivery and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Flexibility to support EU working hours where required.

Additional skills that will be good to have:

• General understanding of Global Banking and Markets; or experience in ISDA/ CSA/ GMRA agreements, collateral management and margin process is a plus.
• Relevant experience in an operations, risk, or service environment (collateral experience is an advantage).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong risk awareness, attention to detail and control mindset.
• Strong organisation and prioritisation skills to meet tight deadlines.
