The Company

I am partnering with a leading regional financial institution to hire a senior leader within its Group Compliance function. The role sits in Compliance Analytics, and will lead the transformation of the transaction surveillance capabilities across multiple markets.

The Role

You will lead the evolution of transaction monitoring from a traditional rules-based framework towards a more advanced, analytics-led surveillance model. Key responsibilities include:

• Lead AML transaction monitoring system transformation and optimisation
• Own scenario design, threshold calibration, tuning and alert quality improvement
• Drive large-scale surveillance system upgrades, enhancements and integrations
• Partner with data, technology and financial crime teams to operationalise analytics and machine learning models
• Ensure detection frameworks remain effective, explainable and aligned with regulatory expectations
• Provide Group-level advisory to country teams on implementation, optimisation and best practices
• Manage governance, documentation, audit readiness and regulatory review matters
• Lead and develop a team of AML surveillance / TM systems specialists

Requirements

• 12-15+ years’ supervisory experience in AML, financial crime, risk surveillance or transaction monitoring
• Deep hands-on knowledge of transaction monitoring systems is essential
• Proven track record in scenario design, threshold tuning, detection logic and alert workflow optimisation
• Experience delivering large-scale AML / surveillance transformation programmes
• Strong understanding of AML typologies, model governance, explainability and auditability
• Ability to bridge Compliance, Technology, Data and Financial Crime stakeholders
• Strong programme management and stakeholder engagement skills
• AML-related professional certification preferred
