Job Summary

Assist chefs with food preparation and kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and following food safety procedures in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients and food items according to chefs’ instructions to support meal preparation

Assist chefs by washing, cutting, and preparing ingredients to ensure timely food production

Receive, check, and store food supplies accurately to maintain inventory quality

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen workstations, equipment, and utensils to meet sanitation standards

Ensure proper storage and labelling of ingredients to prevent contamination and spoilage

Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures consistently to comply with health regulations

Wash kitchen utensils and equipment as required to support kitchen operations

Support daily kitchen opening and closing activities to ensure readiness and cleanliness

Perform other kitchen duties assigned by the Chef or Kitchen Supervisor to assist smooth kitchen workflow

Preferred competencies and qualifications

Willingness to learn and ability to follow instructions effectively in a kitchen environment

Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining quality and safety standards

Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle kitchen supplies safely

Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required

Demonstrate good teamwork and maintain a positive working attitude
