Firewall Engineer - FortiGate

Contract: 6 Months

Location: Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur

Work Mode: Hybrid – 1–2 days/week onsite

Rate: MYR 14,000/month

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Firewall Engineer with 6+ years of experience in network security, firewall deployment, implementation, and troubleshooting. Strong hands-on experience in Routing & Switching and FortiGate Firewall is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, implement, and troubleshoot FortiGate Firewalls.
• Manage firewall policies, NAT, VPN, routing, and security configurations.
• Perform Routing & Switching configuration and troubleshooting.
• Support firewall migration, upgrades, and network implementation projects.
• Monitor and troubleshoot network and firewall connectivity issues.
• Work with network, security, and infrastructure teams to resolve technical issues.
• Maintain technical documentation and implementation/change records.
• Follow security standards and change management processes.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of experience in Network/Firewall Engineering.
• Strong Routing & Switching skills – Mandatory.
• FortiGate Firewall – Mandatory.
• Hands-on experience with firewall deployment and implementation.
• Good knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, NAT, and VPN.
• Experience with Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, or Check Point is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Zscaler/Proxy, automation/scripting, and Linux is good to have.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Preferred Certifications

Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, Check Point, or other relevant networking/security certifications are an advantage.

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM14,000.00 per month

Experience:

• Routing & Switching: 6 years (Preferred)
• Fortigate: 6 years (Preferred)

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Kuala Lumpur
