Responsibilities:
Oversee all design approvals with contractors and consultants
Ensure that the designs are in accordance with the industry standards, compliance and contractual requirements
Manage design development within the project team and external stakeholders
Review and identify potential risk and/or technical issues
Provide technical input, support and solutions to design issues to operation team and identify any potential risk or discrepancy on the design
Review documented technical requirements and project plan to ensure adherence to defined standards
Confident to present on all disciplines, Structural, Architectural and E&M involved in the design
Responsible to drive and manage the coordination of all disciplines in the design and manage the information flow to enable timely decisions to be made
Involve in technical discussions with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers
Manage the design deliverables – work package design submission, drawing & material submission
Ensure that the overall design progress is in line with the programme
Input into buildability and value engineering proposals
Oversee and develop Design Coordinators to manage independently
Review designs with Design for Safety (DfS) & Design for Maintainability (DfM)
Requirements:
Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering, recognized by the PEB
At least 15 years’ experience in the construction industry, Experience in the design of multi-storey bus depot or similar projects
Highly motivated, self-driven with initiatives to work independently
Meticulous, eye for details and a good team player
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced and dynamic environment
Mindset to work in a digital environment
Approach with a Design for Safety mindset
Proficient in project management and understanding of architectural, structural & MEP trades
An awareness of sustainability initiatives in construction
