What The Role Is
You will leverage psychology and social science theories and methods to enhance MINDEF/SAF's Strategic Communications (SC). You are responsible for studying MINDEF/SAF's audiences to guide the SC strategy, policy and planning across public communications, internal communications and community engagement.
What You Will Be Working On
- Develop frameworks and models to help gain an in-depth understanding of the key audiences and defence-related issues
- Design and conduct research studies
- Propose data-driven solutions and recommendations to enhance MINDEF/SAF's reach and engagement of various audience groups
- Apply psychology and social science theories and methods to analyse audience behaviours and attitudes
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in performing research
Challenge(s) - Applying psychology and social science theories and methods while navigating and balancing the diverse considerations of MINDEF/SAF departments and other Ministries
What We Are Looking For
- Education in Psychology, Psychometrics, Behavioural Economics or a related field is preferred
- Prior work experience in the field of strategic communications is advantageous
- Basic knowledge in social science analysis
- Experience in designing and conducting research studies with an analysis component, such as psychometrics and statistics using SPSS, is preferred
- Experience with analysis or programming languages such as R or Python would be advantageous
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Ability to present findings and recommendations in a clear and meaningful way
