Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of construction workers on site; allocate daily work tasks and monitor productivity and workmanship.
• Carry out and supervise formwork erection, rebar tying and steel welding works for structural elements.
• Study and interpret construction drawings and bar bending schedules; set out and check dimensions, levels and alignment on site.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and method statements.
• Check work quality and rectify defects; report site progress to the Site Manager / Project Manager.
• Enforce site safety — conduct toolbox briefings and ensure PPE, safe work procedures and good housekeeping on site.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers on work sequence, material deliveries and site access.
• Monitor material usage and site stock (formwork materials, reinforcement and consumables); report shortages and wastage.
• Arrange and check tools and equipment; ensure proper storage, maintenance and safe use.
• Maintain daily site records — worker attendance, work done, machinery usage and safety checks.
• Guide and train junior workers; ensure they follow the correct methods and safe work practices.
• Attend site meetings and report any incident, defect, delay or non-compliance to the Site Manager promptly

Requirements

• Permanent, long-term full-time position — candidates seeking long-term employment with the company.
• Able to work overtime, night shifts, weekends and public holidays when required by the project schedule.
• Physically fit — the role requires working on construction sites, walking, climbing and carrying out site inspections in all weather conditions.
• Communication: able to communicate in English and Mandarin on site. Mandarin is required to communicate with our Mandarin-speaking management and site personnel on work and safety instructions; English is required for site coordination, reporting and communication with consultants and authorities.
• Remuneration: fixed monthly salary of $4,100 to $4,700 per month, inclusive of all hours worked. As this is a supervisory position not covered by Part IV of the Employment Act, no separate overtime payment is payable.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in the construction industry.
• Hands-on experience in formwork, rebar tying or steel welding works on building construction projects.
• Experience in leading or coordinating a work team on site is an advantage.
• Relevant construction trade qualification or equivalent practical site experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical and architectural drawings is an advantage.
• Positive work attitude, good interpersonal and supervisory skills.
• A team player who is able to work in a fast-paced environment.
