Role Description This is a full-time, on-site IoT and Automation Engineer role based in Singapore. The IoT and Automation Engineer will design, implement, and maintain IoT architectures to support AI-driven manufacturing solutions, including edge devices, sensors, gateways, and industrial communication networks. Daily responsibilities include integrating automation systems with existing production equipment, configuring and monitoring data acquisition pipelines, and collaborating with data science teams to ensure high-quality, reliable data for analytics and machine learning models. The role involves developing and testing control logic, conducting system diagnostics, troubleshooting connectivity and performance issues, and documenting technical designs and implementation procedures. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders and customers to deploy solutions on the factory floor, support pilots and rollouts, and ensure safe, robust, and scalable automation systems.

Qualifications

• IoT and connectivity skills: experience with industrial IoT platforms, sensor integration, edge devices, and protocols such as MQTT, OPC UA, Modbus, or similar.
• Automation and control skills: proficiency in PLC programming, SCADA systems, industrial control systems, and equipment integration within manufacturing environments.
• Networking and systems skills: understanding of industrial Ethernet, network security basics, Linux-based systems, and cloud or edge computing environments.
• Software and scripting skills: ability to use languages such as Python, C/C++, or similar for automation, integration, and tooling; familiarity with APIs and data pipelines.
• Data and analytics awareness: basic knowledge of data collection, logging, and preprocessing for AI/ML applications, and experience working with engineering or data science teams.
• Education and experience: bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related field; prior experience in manufacturing, semiconductor, electronics, or process industries is advantageous.
• Professional competencies: strong problem-solving skills, ability to work on-site in production environments, clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and commitment to safety and quality standards.
