Role Description The Field Service Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Singapore. This role involves installing, commissioning, and servicing Nilfisk cleaning equipment at customer locations, including performing diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs to ensure safe and reliable operation. The technician will respond to service calls, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and maintain accurate service records and documentation. Daily tasks include providing technical support and guidance to customers, training users on proper equipment operation, and collaborating with internal teams to coordinate parts orders, warranty work, and service schedules. The role also requires adherence to safety standards, continuous improvement of service practices, and professional communication with customers to build strong, long-term relationships.
Qualifications
- Strong technical and mechanical aptitude, with experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial or commercial equipment.
- Basic electrical and electronics knowledge, including reading wiring diagrams and using diagnostic tools.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, and equipment specifications.
- Effective customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
- Good organizational skills for managing service schedules, documentation, and parts inventory.
- Comfort working independently in the field and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
- Relevant technical diploma or certification in mechanical, electrical, or mechatronics engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
- Prior field service experience in cleaning equipment or similar industrial machinery is an advantage.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Singapore to customer sites as required.
