Smartlink Engineering Sdn Bhd is a local Contract Manufacturer serving the semiconductor and high-technology industries. We provide integrated manufacturing solutions covering cable harness assembly, control box and panel assembly, electrical and mechanical module assembly, system integration, and customised engineering solutions.

As we continue to expand our business, we are looking for a Supply Chain Executive to join our growing team in Penang and support our expanding manufacturing operations.

Job Summary :

The Supply Chain Executive is responsible for coordinating and managing supply chain activities including procurement, supplier management, material planning, delivery monitoring, and inventory control to ensure smooth manufacturing operations.

The role will work closely with Engineering, Project, Production, Quality and Finance teams to ensure materials and components are available according to project and production requirements while achieving optimal cost, quality and delivery performance.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Procurement & Supplier Management

• Manage purchasing activities including supplier sourcing, quotation evaluation, purchase order issuance and supplier follow-up.
• Source and develop suppliers according to company and project requirements.
• Evaluate quotations and negotiate pricing, lead time, payment terms and other commercial conditions.
• Monitor supplier performance based on Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD).
• Maintain good relationships with suppliers and resolve supply-related issues.
• Support supplier evaluation, qualification and improvement activities.

2. Material Planning & Supply Chain Coordination

• Review material requirements and ensure timely procurement to support production and project schedules.
• Monitor purchase orders, supplier delivery status and material availability.
• Follow up and expedite critical materials to ensure on-time delivery.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Project and Production teams on material requirements and delivery priorities.
• Identify potential supply risks and support solutions to avoid production disruption.

3. Inventory & Cost Management

• Monitor inventory levels to minimize excess, shortage and obsolete materials.
• Work with internal teams to improve inventory accuracy and material utilization.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through supplier negotiation, alternative sourcing and process improvement.
• Support purchasing and supply chain cost reduction initiatives.

4. Documentation & System Management

• Maintain accurate purchasing documentation, supplier records and procurement transactions.
• Update purchase order status, delivery schedules and supplier information in the ERP system.
• Prepare reports on purchasing status, supplier performance, delivery performance and material availability.

5. Cross-Functional Support & Improvement

• Support initiatives to improve supply chain efficiency and operational effectiveness.
• Support new project/product introduction activities, including sourcing and material readiness.
• Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Production, Project and Finance teams to resolve supply chain issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Requirements & Qualifications :

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Manufacturing or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in supply chain, procurement, purchasing or a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in semiconductor, precision engineering, automation or contract manufacturing will be an added advantage.
• Good understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, material planning and inventory control.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; experience with ERP/MRP systems is an advantage.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
