Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced communications professional to strengthen NTUC First Campus’ media engagement and corporate communications efforts.

The Manager, Strategic Communications will play a key role in building and protecting the organisation’s reputation through proactive media relations, effective issues management and strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate is an experienced media relations practitioner with strong news judgement, writing skills and the ability to identify and develop compelling stories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute media strategies that support the organisation’s priorities and strengthen its corporate reputation. Proactively identify newsworthy stories and pitch them to relevant media outlets.
  • Manage media enquiries, interview requests and other media engagements from end to end.
  • Prepare media materials, including media releases, media pitches, responses, briefing notes, talking points, FAQs and holding statements.
  • Coordinate media visits, filming and photography shoots, working with internal stakeholders to identify suitable locations, programmes and profiles.
  • Support issues and crisis communications, including monitoring developments, assessing reputational risks and coordinating appropriate responses.
  • Provide communications advice and support to internal BUs and stakeholders, and stakeholders, and liaise with external partners on communications matters.
  • Support the planning and delivery of corporate events, media events, launches and stakeholder engagements.
  • Project manage the organisation’s annual report, including content planning, writing and stakeholder coordination. Undertake other strategic communications projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Degree, preferably in Communications, Public Relations or a related discipline.
  • At least eight years of relevant communications experience.
  • Strong understanding of Singapore’s media landscape and established media relationships would be an advantage.
  • Resourceful, collaborative and able to work independently.
  • Experience in crisis communications, events management or annual reports would be an advantage.
