Position Overview

• Job Title: Accounts Executive
• Industry Sector: Commodity Trading, Freight Operations, or Marine Logistics
• Reports To: Finance Manager
• Core Goal: Drive accurate corporate financial reporting and ledger integrity while utilizing advanced CTRM and ERP systems to manage derivatives, structural controls, and audit compliance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting & Ledger Management

• Coordinate with Accountant on the timely monthly closure of accounts.
• Review monthly, quarterly, and year-end management reports.
• Prepare quarterly reporting packs for seamless submission to Group Accounting.
• Perform ad-hoc financial analysis including, but not limited to, comprehensive gross profit and variance analysis.

2. Statutory Compliance & Corporate Governance

• Prepare statutory financial statements in strict accordance with IFRS and Group Accounting’s requirements.
• Ensure the local compliance reports are accurate and submitted on time, including GST, WHT, annual tax filing, and transfer pricing documentation.
• Work with Corporate Secretary on annual returns lodging with ACRA.
• Handle annual GTP survey (Global Trader Program) compliance and reporting.

3. Audit Management & Internal Controls

• Manage quarterly review of accounts by external auditors.
• Responsible for internal audit processes led by internal auditors assigned by the Group.
• Ensure internal controls are robustly in place, monitored, and executed across all workflows.
• Handle all internal/external audit queries and resolve related technical matters.

4. Treasury, Specialized Accounting & Special Projects

• Handle derivatives reporting and meticulous account reconciliation between trading systems and the general ledger.
• Provide technical support in terms of complex IFRS interpretation and operational application.
• Participate in special projects and corporate workflow process improvements.
• Execute any ad-hoc accounting functions assigned by the management team.

Requirements& Qualifications

·        Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional qualifications (e.g., CA Singapore, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) are highly preferred.

·        Experience:4–5 years of progressive corporate accounting experience, ideally within a commodities trading, shipping, or energy logistics multinational corporation(MNC).

·        Hard Skills:

o  SAP: Hands-on proficiency in SAP ERP for ledger maintenance, month-end closing, and financial reporting.

o  Aspect /CTRM: Direct experience working with Aspect or similar Commodity Trading and Risk Management (CTRM) platforms to handle derivatives accounting, trade valuations, or paper/physical reconciliations.

o  Technical Accounting: Strong expertise in IFRS, corporate tax regulations (GST/WHT), and transfer pricing guidelines.

o  Data Analytics: Advanced-level mastery in Microsoft Excel for intricate data analytics, financial mapping, and variance reporting.

·        Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, highly analytical mindset, ability to work independently under tight closing deadlines, and professional cross-departmental communication style.
