About the role

PICO Management Services is seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Executive to join our growing accounting team. This is a full-time position based in Johor Bahru, Johor. As an Accounts Executive, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the smooth operation of our bookkeeping and accounting functions. This position is essential to ensuring compliance with accounting standards and providing reliable financial information to stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Recording and posting financial transactions in accounting systems with accuracy and attention to detail

• Reconciling bank statements, credit card accounts and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis

• Preparing and processing invoices, expense reports and payment documentation

• Maintaining detailed and organised financial records and documentation

• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and month-end closing procedures

• Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

• Responding to customer and vendor inquiries regarding account balances and transactions

• Supporting compliance with tax regulations and preparing documentation for tax filings

• Assisting senior accountants with audit preparation and special projects as required

• Utilising accounting software and systems to record and track financial information

What we're looking for

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

• Proven experience as an Accounts Executive, bookkeeper or similar accounting role in a small to medium-sized practice or business environment

• Strong proficiency with accounting software and systems, particularly cloud-based accounting platforms

• Competent knowledge of bookkeeping principles, invoice processing and account reconciliation

• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies

• Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in financial record-keeping

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively

• Good communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with staff, clients and vendors

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant accounting tools

• Knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards and tax regulations is advantageous

• Familiarity with GST or other relevant compliance requirements is desirable
