About the Opportunity

My client is expanding their core engineering team to build a top-tier infrastructure platform capable of supporting high-volume, mission-critical workloads. Looking for a tech enthusiast who loves building reliable systems from the ground up and is eager to make an immediate impact on our technical foundation.

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Script and deploy core service configurations via IaC—covering load balancers, high-availability setups, databases, message queues, and Kubernetes (K8s) cluster resources.
• Virtualization & Container Orchestration: Oversee virtual infrastructure across the hypervisor stack and manage production Kubernetes (K8s) environments.
• Linux & Automation: Administer Linux systems using modern automation tooling, developing custom scripts and automation in Go (Golang) when required.
• Infrastructure & On-Prem Deployment: Provision and configure physical hardware and virtual servers within our on-premises data center environments (including periodic hands-on data center visits).
• Hardware Asset Management: Audit and maintain accurate hardware configuration records through automated processes.
• System Diagnostics & Triaging: Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across application, OS, virtualized, and bare-metal hardware layers using foundational networking knowledge.
• Observability: Set up and manage system/service monitoring, metric collection, and alerting utilizing Prometheus tooling.

Technical Requirements

• Solid background in implementing deep troubleshooting & analysis methodologies
• Deep Kubernetes Extension: Goes beyond just using K8s to writing Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs) and K8s Operators/Controllers (e.g., developing custom control logic using Go/Kubebuilder).
• Deep Linux & Networking Fundamentals: Well-versed in Linux Kernel parameter tuning, network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP/2, gRPC, DNS), eBPF, and analyzing CPU/Memory/Network bottlenecks.
• Proficient in Go, Rust, or Python, with solid expertise in writing Clean Code, designing REST/gRPC APIs, and microservice architectures.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficient in Terraform, OpenTofu, and Pulumi, along with configuration management tools like Ansible.
• CI/CD Pipeline Master: Deep expertise in GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, and ArgoCD (GitOps). Thoroughly understands branching strategies (Gitflow/Trunk-based), automated testing integration, build speed optimization, and release strategies (Canary/Blue-Green).
• Solid mastery of well-established high-availability techniques and resilient system architecture
• Deep familiarity with Debian-based Linux distributions and system administration.
