Assistant Manager, HR

Location: Penang
Salary: RM6,000 – RM7,500 per month

Role Overview

We are hiring an Assistant Manager, HR on behalf of our client. This role will oversee a broad range of HR functions and support effective HR operations throughout the employee lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have strong HR Generalist experience with hands-on exposure across multiple HR areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage manpower planning, recruitment, onboarding and employee lifecycle activities.
• Handle employee relations, confirmation, transfers, promotions and disciplinary matters.
• Support performance management, learning & development and employee engagement initiatives.
• Oversee HR operations including payroll coordination, benefits and leave administration.
• Ensure HR policies and practices comply with company standards and Malaysian employment legislation.
• Maintain accurate HR records, documentation and HR systems.
• Provide HR support and guidance to employees and management.
• Support office administration and workplace operations when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or a related field.
• 5–8 years of HR Generalist experience.
• Strong hands-on experience across multiple HR functions.
• Good knowledge of the Malaysia Employment Act and HR practices.
• Experience in employee relations, recruitment, payroll coordination and HR administration.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organised, proactive and able to work independently.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems.
• Candidates with experience in retail, property, hospitality or other fast-paced environments are encouraged to apply.
