SMP Global Pte Ltd is looking for a motivated and service-oriented
Customer Service Assistant
to join our Singapore team.
The successful candidate will support our day-to-day freight forwarding and logistics activities, serving as an important coordination point between customers, operations, transporters, carriers, overseas agents and our regional offices.
Key Responsibilities
Attend to customer enquiries and provide prompt and professional customer service.
Coordinate
air freight, sea freight, trucking and cross-border shipments
from booking to final delivery.
Provide customers with timely shipment status updates and follow up proactively on shipment milestones.
Liaise with shipping lines, airlines, co-loaders, hauliers, warehouses, customs brokers and overseas agents.
Coordinate closely with internal Operations and Sales teams to ensure customers' requirements are properly fulfilled.
Arrange bookings, collections, deliveries and other shipment-related activities.
Prepare and check shipping documents, including Bills of Lading, Air Waybills, shipping instructions, delivery orders and other relevant documentation.
Assist with freight quotations, rate enquiries and basic shipment costing when required.
Monitor shipment schedules and promptly address delays, discrepancies or operational issues.
Handle customer feedback and service issues professionally and escalate important matters when necessary.
Maintain accurate shipment records and supporting documentation in the company's system.
Ensure completed jobs and relevant supporting documents are properly submitted for billing.
Coordinate with SMP's overseas offices and international partners on regional and cross-border shipments.
Provide general administrative and operational support to the team when required.
Requirements
Minimum
GCE 'O' Level, Nitec/Higher Nitec, Diploma or equivalent
.
Experience in freight forwarding, logistics, shipping or transportation will be an advantage.
Fresh graduates and candidates without prior logistics experience are welcome to apply. Training will be provided.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Organised, responsible and attentive to details.
Able to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Good interpersonal skills and a customer-focused mindset.
Able to work independently while being a strong team player.
Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
