We are committed to making a difference and are looking for a Technical Support Engineer – Malaysia who shares our passion.
The Role:
Working as part of the Product Support team, the Technical Support Engineer – Malaysia is Micro-X's regional technical support and spare-parts coordination resource for authorised distributors across the APAC region. Based in Segambut, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and reporting to the Regional Service Team Leader in Australia, you will own escalated distributor cases through to verified resolution, provide structured remote diagnostics and field support, and maintain reliable regional spare-parts availability, traceability and inventory accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as the first escalation point for distributor technical cases that cannot be resolved through standard service procedures, providing remote fault diagnosis and field support when required.
• Own cases from escalation through to verified closure, maintaining clear and timely communication with distributors and Adelaide-based stakeholders.
• Escalate complex, safety-related, recurring or product-performance issues to engineering, quality and operations teams with complete evidence.
• Manage regional service-parts inventory, including stock levels, forecasting, traceability, cycle counts and coordination of orders, returns and disposals.
• Coach distributor service personnel and deliver or support technical training and competency assessments, remotely and in person.
• Maintain accurate service records and reports, and contribute to service bulletins, troubleshooting guides and technical documentation.
• Identify recurring service and product trends, support root-cause investigations and raise actionable improvement opportunities.
What You'll Bring:
ESSENTIAL:
• Diploma, advanced diploma or degree in electronics, electrical, mechatronics, biomedical engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• At least five years' field service or technical support experience with medical X-ray, diagnostic imaging or similarly complex regulated equipment.
• Experience supporting distributors, service partners or geographically dispersed customers across cultures and time zones.
• Practical inventory-control experience, including forecasting, replenishment, cycle counting, traceability, returns and reconciliation.
• Demonstrated ability in methodical fault-finding, remote diagnosis and root-cause analysis across electrical, electronic, mechanical, software and network interfaces.
• Ability to interpret schematics, technical drawings, service manuals, work instructions and change documentation.
• Strong written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Competence with Microsoft 365, service-desk or CRM systems, and inventory or ERP platforms.
• Valid passport and driving licence, with the ability to travel within Malaysia, regionally and to Adelaide as required.
• Authorisation or licensing required by local law for work involving ionising-radiation equipment.
DESIRABLE:
• Experience delivering technical training and assessing service-technician competency.
• Working knowledge of medical-device quality systems, complaint handling, field service controls and radiation-safety requirements.
• Additional Asian language capability.
What We Offer:
• Innovation: Be part of a team that constantly challenges the status quo.
• Impact: Your work directly contributes to global health and security. You will be joining a company that is continually learning, growing, and developing — challenging the parameters of science and technology as we know it.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with brilliant minds and turn revolutionary ideas into reality.
If you're excited about working in a fast-paced, challenging environment where innovation thrives and every day brings new opportunities, we'd love to hear from you. This is your chance to be part of something big from the very beginning — where your contributions matter and your impact is felt in real lives.
