Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the day-to-day finance and accounting operations for the Malaysia entity.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Prepare and analyse monthly management reports, financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Partner with senior management and key business stakeholders to provide financial insights and recommendations.
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, including monitoring performance against business objectives.
- Drive financial planning, cash flow management, working capital, and cost optimisation initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements, tax regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain effective financial controls and processes to safeguard company assets and minimise financial risks.
- Review and improve finance processes, systems, and reporting capabilities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Support commercial decision-making through financial modelling, profitability analysis, and business performance reviews.
- Lead, coach, and develop members of the finance team.
- Support regional finance initiatives and ad-hoc projects as required.
Key Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum 7-10 years of relevant finance and accounting experience, ideally within a multinational or manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
- Proven experience managing budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and financial analysis.
- Strong understanding of internal controls, tax, audit, and statutory compliance.
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or other product-based environments will be highly advantageous.
