Job Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development of mechanical and thermal solutions for advanced memory and computing systems. This role will focus on creating detailed mechanical designs, assisting with thermal analysis, developing prototypes, and supporting product development activities. The engineer will work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to help deliver reliable, manufacturable products.

Responsibilities

• Create and update 3D CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings for mechanical components, enclosures, and chassis.
• Support the design and evaluation of thermal management solutions, including heat sinks, airflow features, and cooling components.
• Perform basic thermal, mechanical, and tolerance analyses using standard engineering tools and methods.
• Assist in prototype builds, product testing, and design verification activities.
• Work with electrical, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure designs meet product requirements.
• Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) guidelines with guidance from senior engineers.
• Participate in material and component selection based on cost, performance, and availability requirements.
• Support manufacturing partners and suppliers during prototype and production build activities.
• Maintain engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, test reports, and engineering change orders.
• Help troubleshoot mechanical and thermal issues identified during development and production.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Typically 3 to 5 years of mechanical design experience in electronics, computing hardware, or related products.
• Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks or Creo.
• Basic understanding of thermal management, materials, and mechanical design principles.
• Familiarity with engineering analysis tools and laboratory testing methods.
• Experience supporting prototype development and validation testing.
• Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing mechanical components for electronic systems.
• Familiarity with sheet metal, machined, molded, or die-cast parts.
• Exposure to thermal testing and data analysis.
• Experience working with manufacturing suppliers and prototype vendors.
