About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join GET BUILDERS PROSPECT SDN BHD in Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in managing project costs, budgets, and financial controls across our construction projects. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for ensuring cost efficiency, accuracy in estimations, and optimal resource allocation throughout the project lifecycle. This position is integral to our project delivery success and directly impacts our clients' satisfaction and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents for construction projects

• Conduct site inspections and measurements to ensure accuracy in project costing and valuations

• Monitor project expenditure and prepare monthly financial reports, variation orders, and cost forecasts

• Manage contract administration, including contract documentation, terms and conditions, and claims management

• Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to resolve cost-related issues and discrepancies

• Prepare interim valuations and final accounts for project completion and payment certification

• Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering solutions to optimise project budgets

• Maintain accurate project records and documentation for audit and compliance purposes

• Assist in the preparation of feasibility studies and project budgets for new business development

What we're looking for

• Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline from a recognised institution

• Professional qualification or registration with a recognised surveying body (such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or equivalent local qualification)

• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes, and Malaysian building regulations

• Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail

• Strong communication and negotiation abilities with the capacity to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams

• Knowledge of contract management principles and experience with various contract types

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines

• Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to identifying risks and implementing solutions
